 It's awards season!!
2022 has been a great year for music. Things have been happening in a very real way and it's been so nice to get back to playing shows, touring, recording, and bringing to life a couple projects we'd been planning and working on the last couple years. We have some exciting things coming up in the last quarter of 2022, including our first European Tour since 2019, which kicks off Oct 4th in Spain (full tour schedule HERE) and 2023 is gonna have some brand new music and a few special surprises. We're honored and thrilled to see Ward Hayden & The Outliers nominated for "Country Artist of the Year" in the 2022 Boston Music Awards. And in a list with so many other great country acts from our great city. And our very own Cody Nilsen is nominated for "Session Musician of the Year". When he isn't on the road with us, Cody has become a huge asset to the studios not just in Massachusetts, but in New York and more recently over in Europe and Scandinavia for his work on pedal steel and guitar. Really nice to see him recognized for all his work and what he adds to so much music getting created. And I'm honored to see my name listed in the "Vocalist of the Year" category. To say my brand of singing is an outlier in the Boston landscape would be an understatement, but Boston has always had my back and supported my style of Country music. These award shows are always a lot of fun and they're a great way to champion the music being made here. They're also such a nice way to see musicians and fans all come together for one big event and support each other. Last year's award show was some of the best local camaraderie I have seen in some time and it really did my heart some good to be there and witness it. Ol' Hank left a lasting and incredibly important legacy. Both in life and in music there is so much to learn and to take from his 29 years. And while he learned to play music at a relatively young age, his rise and fall in the music world lasted just four short years before his untimely passing. But, the stories of his life and his incredibly music have lived on and it is always a joy to get to share these songs from the stage. We're looking forward to seeing you in New York for two shows and in Massachusetts this week.
